Qualifications essential for becoming a teacher

A pre-primary and a primary teacher needs to have the following qualifications:

NTT or D.Ed from a recognized college or university.

Minimum a year of experience in the same field.

An elementary teacher requires the following qualifications:
 

ETT from a well-recognized college/university.

Minimum one - two years of experience as a teacher.

Teachers for the classes 8th till 12th requires the below qualifications:

Three years of Graduation after 12th. 

B.Ed from a reputed college or university

Minimum two years of experience as a teacher in a well-reputed school

Along with these qualifications, a teacher must be able to crack TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) conducted by the UGC and pass with at least 60% marks.If you prefer to teach classes above XII then you need to pursue M.Ed, M.Phil or Ph.D.
